oppression isn’t generational and trying to frame politics as “the old people are wrong and the young people are right” erases the fact that there are old people who have been fighting the good fight for decades and the fact that there are young people who are literally nazis

Plus while there might be less old people fighting the good fight it’s usually because they were killed or were part of the minorities that have poor living conditions that kill you early

As came up recently, in fact: Seniors Are More Conservative Because the Poor Don’t Survive to Become Seniors

I work at a YMCA and honestly? Yeah. I work the morning shift, where the elderly folks come in at the crack of dawn and the old ladies come in for their aqua fitness classes. Are most of them trump supporters? yeah. Are most of them conservative? yeah. But you know what? There actually are baby boomers who hate him, who think kavanaugh is scum, who this bezos is a piece of garbage, and who hate how our generation is getting fucked over by the government they’ve been voting against for decades. when you find a liberal senior, it’s incredibly validating and warming, definitely take the time to talk to them and about their history in politics.

No! this film is for horny people and people with taste so bad it’s good. no i won’t elaborate.

It’s ridiculous that supreme court justices can sit for the rest of their fucking life. Like the future of the american democracy depends on whether an 80 year old can avoid working herself to death until the current president loses an election. And the president can affect american politics for literally decades, until a man hopefully dies

There should also be term limits for the senate, like we all know and think orrin hatch should have either died of a heart attack or retired 20 years ago

casual reminder that the supreme court is a bunch of unelected politicians

casual reminder that 4 of the 9 sitting supreme court justices were appointed by presidents who lost the popular vote

Republicans: Felons should NEVER regain the right to vote. Got a felony for pot possession when you were 21? Fuck off. If you can’t follow the law, you don’t get to vote on the law.

Also Republicans: I mean, even if Kavanaugh IS an attempted rapist who drank underage in high school, whatever. It’s not disqualifying even if its true. I still think he should serve a LIFETIME POSITION ON THE SUPREME COURT.

Not only that, but he perjured himself 3 separate times in front of the Senate, first during his confirmation when Bush nominated him to the DC court, again during his SCOTUS hearing, and then again this past week.

Perjury is, wait for it, a felony.

hold on a second, why does this say ‘REGAIN right to vote’? Are prisoners in USA not allowed to vote???

Yeah in a lot of places in the USA any felony charge loses you the right to vote. It’s called felony disenfranchisement

… Wouldn’t that allow government to strip opposition activists of political rights by arresting them on manufactured charges? That sounds EXTREMELY undemocratic and easily exploitable.

You are correct.
