Trans people are more likely to be homeless, especially trans youth (x x x x)

At least being a cis male, this individual would be able to stay in a gendered homeless shelter, whereas a homeless trans individual might not be allowed into their own gender’s or into the gender’s that they were assigned at birth.So yeah, at least he’s got cis privilege (assuming this individual actually is a cis man and not a trans person).

 POC (particularly black people) are more likely to be homeless than white people (x x x x x), though there’s really no kind of privilege that a white homeless person would have over a poc homeless person (at least not to my knowledge).

Men are more likely to be homeless when single, but women are more likely to be homeless with children. This could be because men are more likely to be veterans or not get help for mental illness, while single women are more likely to turn to sex work in exchange for a place to stay. (x) Affirming this is another article, which also suggests that homeless women might hide out of sight to prevent sexual assault while going more into sex-for-rent that often occurs with homeless women (x).

There’s a possibility that this individual could be a veteran, as veterans are twice as likely to be chronically homeless than non-veterans, and 33% of homeless men are veterans (x). Also, only 8% of homeless veterans are female, and black and latin@ veterans are about 40% of homeless veterans (x).

This person could also be mentally ill, as mentally ill people are more likely to be homeless than neurotypicals (x x x)

This person might be gay, who knows? (no source because I need to go to bed, go google ‘homeless lgbt’ if you need proof that those darn social justice gays are frequently homeless and not just faking it for tumblr lulz).

Overall, there’s a lot of reasons this person could be homeless, but white male privilege isn’t really the issue. The fact that you’d rather make a joke of real problem that this person is facing in the name of anti-social justice is… Weird? Rude? Disgusting? If you want to do something meaningful, I’d recommend donating to homeless shelters (either in $$$ form or with things like this). You can find local shelters here if you want, or you can go to local churches or YMCAs and ask what you can do to help with the homelessness problem in the area. If you want to help out just homeless men (because there’s a ton) or just veterans, just google your city (or the closest big city, like searching Detroit if you live in Roseville) with the particulars and find a good place to donate some cash or whatever’s on their ‘we need this please’ list.

Not forcing you to donate or anything, but it’d be kind of shitty of you to post/reblog this shit just to be anti-social justice but not actually give a shit about the actual homeless person in the picture.
