PSA to our followers this Autism Acceptance Month:

endangeredbodiesnyc:

  • Use Autism **Acceptance** Month (as opposed to Autism Awareness Month).
  • NO “light it up blue” or puzzle pieces. Google “Autism Speaks hate group” to learn more.
  • Use red or gold instead, which are colors supported by the autistic community.
  • Use identity-first language (most autistic people prefer “autistic” instead of “person with autism”), but don’t police the language of someone who prefers to be called a person with autism.
  • NO scare terms like “suffering with autism” or “afflicted with autism.”
  • Avoid functioning labels like “high functioning” or “low functioning.”
  • If autistic voices are not at the center of your efforts, you’re doing it wrong.
  • When in doubt, ASK AN AUTISTIC PERSON.
  • To learn more about autism, visit autistic-run organizations like the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) and Autism Women’s Network (AWN).

Fey Library Fines

evilsupplyco:

Overdue books are not a matter to be joked about when you borrow from a fey library. If you return your books late, please expect at least one of the following:

  • The inability to speak without rhyme until enough time has passed that you can safely ask the librarian on duty if you may again know the beauty of borrowing a book, to be returned on time, “this time I swear!” you proclaim with loud flair.
  • The inability to read anything at all for a moon cycle. Not simply letters and words defying comprehension, but the actual act of books, signs, and labels conspiring to be seen. They will turn away, fade, make themselves scarce.
  • Your socks will get wet. Every day. They will not dry properly and will acquire the smell most commonly associated with good cheese and weird shampoo.

Avoid the curses. Mark your calendars and ask for extensions as necessary.

This is one of those things that I already knew was true, but seeing it so blatantly displayed makes me feel like like I am finding out about it for the first time.

CIA is getting lazy

O.o

“It’s just a script whats the problem lol” the problem is that Fox, CNN, CBS, and all the other channels repped here, despite claiming to be different companies with different viewpoints, all had the exact same script, word for word, to push the exact same viewpoint that smaller, independent news outlets are Fake News and “A Threat To Our Democracy.”

The fact that they have scripts isn’t the problem. The problem is they all, each and every one, have the exact same script down to the letter and in some cases the fucking inflection, which basically reads “small news stations are untrustworthy and a Threat to your Way Of Life, only trust Us, We Are Verified.”

For the record – every station doing this is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, which is known to have pro-Trump bias….
